Biography

  Born in France, where he completed all his pre-university studies, in 1986 he joined the course of Modern Languages ​​and Literatures, a variant of Portuguese and French Studies, at the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences of the New University of Lisbon, where he also attended the Master's Degree in Comparative Portuguese and French Literatures (Medieval Times), which he concluded in 1995 with the presentation of the thesis Figures of silence: from the interjection to the emergence of the word in the medieval text (published in 1996 by Editia Estampa, . After teaching Portuguese and French at Externato Chile and at Veiga Beirão Secondary School (Lisbon), he began his teaching career at the Open University in March 1991 as a Trainee Assistant. In May 1995, he became an assistant. He has taught Phonology, Phonology and Morphology of Portuguese, Sociolinguistics, Classical French Literature, Medieval Portuguese Literature and Medieval French Literature. Between 1997/98 and 1999/2000, he was also the Guest Assistant for French Literature of the 17th and 18th centuries at the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences of the New University of Lisbon. PhD in Social and Human Sciences, He is a founding member (1997) and permanent member of the Editorial Board of Luso-French magazine Sigila and co-director of Cadernos do CEIL. Multidisciplinary Journal of Studies on the Imaginary (FCSH of UNL).  Collaborator of GRIS-France (Groupe de Recherche Interdisciplinaire sur le Secret), member and vice-president of CEIL (Center for the Study of Literary Imagery), member of the Hispanic Association of Medieval Literature and other associations linked to Medieval Studies, a member of the IELT (Institute of Literature and Tradition Studies (FCL) of UNL) and collaborator of the IEM (Medieval Studies Institute (FCSH) of the UNL) and the LEAD (Distance Education and Elearning Laboratory).
