Biography
Célia Manaia has a degree in Biochemistry and a Ph.D. in Microbiology from the University of Coimbra Portugal. She is currently Assistant Professor of the Faculty of Biotechnology, where she teaches microbiology and genetics. Her study interests encompass diversity and bacterial ecology, particularly of places affected by human activities. Over the past few years she has been studying the dispersal of resistance to antibiotics in the environment.
