Biography
Biologist, He teaches Ecology, Marine Biology and Biology and Conservation Management at the Universidade Lusófona. It has used molluscs as research models in areas as diverse as biogeography, phylogeny, ecology, or the search for bioactive compounds. It has dived in many places of the Atlantic in search of molluscs. He was president of the Portuguese Institute of Malacology between 2003 and 2009. He is currently collaborating with a project to evaluate the services of marine ecosystems.
