Biography
Edmundo Monteiro is Full Professor at the Department of Informatics Engineering (DEI) of the University of Coimbra (UC), Portugal. He graduated in Electrical Engineering (Informatics Specialty) from the University of Coimbra, and received his PhD in Informatics Engineering (Computer Networks) and the Habilitation from the same university. He is the Director of the Centre for Informatics and Systems (CISUC). He has more than 25 years of research and industry experience in the field of Computer Networks, New Architectures and Protocols, Quality of Service and Experience, Routing and Resource Management, New Network Management Paradigms, Computer Security, and Wireless Networks and Protocols. He participated in many Portuguese and European research projects and initiatives and he is involved in start-up companies and in consultancy activities in the field of Communication Systems for large companies and public institutions. His publications include 6 books (1 authored and 5 edited), several book chapters and journal publications, and over 150 papers in national and international refereed conferences. He is also co-author of 9 international patents. He is member of the Editorial Board of Computer Communications and Wireless Networks and involved in the organization of many national and international conferences and workshops.
