Biography
Joao Vilela is an assistant professor at the Department of Informatics Engineering of the University of Coimbra and a member of the Laboratory for Communication and Telematics of CISUC. He received his graduation in Computer Science and Network Engineering from the University of Porto in 2005, the M.Sc. in Informatics in 2007 and the Ph.D. in Computer Science in 2011, both from the University of Porto. During this period, he was a visiting researcher at the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
Research Interest
His main research interests are in the area of security and privacy of computer and communication systems, with focus on wireless networks and cloud computing. Other interests include energy efficient network communication and intelligent transportation systems.
