Biography
Adrià Gil Mestres is conducting her postdoctoral research at the Chemistry and Biochemistry Center of the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon since 2013. Her scientific interests lie in the area of ​​computational (bio) chemistry / Molecular modeling applied to nanobiotechnology and medicine, as well as looking for solutions to the problems of the environment. He obtained his PhD from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in 2006 and has held several postdoctoral studies in France (2007, 2008, 2010 and 2012) and Germany (2009). In addition he also worked contracted and did research at the Institut Català d'Investigació Química (Tarragona 2010-2012). He has published 25 articles in international peer-reviewed journals with a cumulative impact factor of 121.1 with over 450 citations and a h-index of 11. In the teaching area he taught at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (classes in Catalan), the Université de Poitiers (classes in French) and the University of Lisbon (classes in Portuguese). In addition, he has guided different students in summer internships (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and University of Lisbon) and also with his MSc work. (University of Lisbon). He is normally invited to be a referee for scientific journals in chemistry-physics and materials science and has also been invited to do some external opinion of doctoral theses and to participate as an examiner. He has also participated regularly in national and international congresses with more than 15 contributions and was twice invited as chairman. It is a member, representing Portugal, of the European COST Action Committee CM1404 (SMARTCATS) and member of the Portuguese Society of Chemistry. (
