Biography
Filomena Martins is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, Faculty of Sciences, University of Lisbon (FCUL). Establishment of robust structure-property / activity quantitative relationships (QSPR / QSAR). Modeling and understanding at the molecular level of solute-solvent-solvent interactions underlying reactive and equilibrium processes in solution. Structural characterization of conventional and non-conventional solvents or solvent mixtures. Rational design, synthesis and biological evaluation of new biologically active molecules and with a relevant impact on public health, in particular new antitubercular compost. These studies involve the rigorous assessment of different physicochemical and / or biological properties and the use of well-validated QSPR / QSAR procedures.
