Biography
Aggregation in Biochemistry (Biotechnology) (2013). • PhD in Biochemistry (Biochemical Technology) (1997) from the University of Lisbon; • Master's degree in Biotechnology (Biochemical Engineering) (1990), Instituto Superior Técnico • Degree in Chemistry (1980), Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon; Integrated member of the Institute of Integrative Biosystems and Sciences (BioIsi-FCUL). The research activity in Food Biochemistry and Nutrition: studies carried out on dairy products and "infusions" through the identification of bioactive molecules by LC-MS; ability to inhibit enzymes involved in pathologies, metabolism of bioactive molecules; influence of bioactive molecules on cholesterol transport (hypocholesterolemia), influence on the expression of cholesterol carrying proteins in cell membranes. Projects in the area of Food, Biotechnology and Chemistry / Biochemistry on Functional Foods in (AdI), FCT.
