Biography
My main interest is metabolic engineering of the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae for consumption of new substrates and production of biotechnologically interesting molecules. Me and my group are currently working on fatty acid overproduction and secretion for the future goal of producing fuel and other molecules of interest by fermentation. I am also interested in new technical developments in the fields of molecular biology and bioinformatics. We have developed new methods for engineering and transferring entire metabolic pathways in and between S. cerevisiae strains and associated software for planning and documentation.
