Biography
Athol Thomson is a Sports Podiatrist with experience treating lower limb injuries in elite and amateur athletes in Australia, the UK and Ireland. He has worked with World and Olympic champion athletes from triathlon, track & field, cycling and rugby. Athol is currently conducting research into Achilles tendon stiffness and lower limb injury as part of his PhD studies. Athol has been involved in the management of world and Olympic champion athletes from triathlon, cycling, track & field and rugby. Previously he worked with the Sports Institute Northern Ireland, English Institute of sport, Irish institute of sport, Liverpool football academy (NI), Queensland Reds Super rugby team, Brisbane Lions Australian rules football and several GAA Irish football teams.
