Biography
Dr. Said Ahzi is Professor at Hamad Bin Khalifa University and Acting Research Director at Qatar Environmental and Energy Research Institute (QEERI/HBKU). Prior to joining QEERI/HBKU, he held a a Distinguished Professor position at the University of Strasbourg – France, where he also served as Associate Dean for the Professional Institute of Science & Technology, Director of the Industrial Engineering Program, Coordinator of the Master Program in Mechanics and Associate-Coordinator for the Master of Computational Engineering. He also served as the founding Leader for the Research group in Materials-Processing-and-Microstructure at the Institute of Mechanics of Fluids and Solids/CNRS.
Research Interest
Development of multiscale and multiphysics approaches, Microstructure sensitive design of materials, Bridging microstructure, properties and processing, Integrated Computational Materials Engineering, Modeling of manufacturing processes including Additive Manufacturing, Development of physically-based constitutive laws for thermo-mechanical and physical behavior of heterogeneous materials (metals, polymers, biopolymers, thin films, nanocomposites) and Thermal & thermo-mechanical analyses of materials, structures & devices.
