Mr. Shahzad A. Shahbaz

Biography

Mr. Shahzad A. Shahbaz serves as an Investment Advisor at Al Mirqab Holding Co. Mr. Shahbaz has 25 years of corporate and investment banking experience in both developed and emerging markets in Europe, Middle East and Asia. During his career, he has been involved in a broad range of financing, capital markets and advisory transactions in the above markets for corporate and institutional clients across several industry sectors. He served as the Chief Executive Officer at QInvest LLC until November 2012. He served as the Chief Executive Officer of Emirates-NBDinvestment bank. Mr. Shahbaz joined the predecessor NBD group in July 2006 as the Chief Executive Officer of Emirates NBD Capital Ltd (also known as NBD Investment Bank Limited) and successfully established a regional investment banking, asset management and private equity business. Prior to leaving Bank of America, he served as Head of their Regional Investment Banking platform for Europe, Middle East and Africa in London where Mr. Shahbaz was based for about 13 years. During his 25 years with Bank of America in various locations in their Global Corporate and Investment Banking Group he was involved in a broad range of financing, investment, capital markets and advisory transactions in both the developed and emerging markets. Previously, he headed Bank of America’s emerging markets business in EMEA. Mr. Shahbaz was also involved in setting up several new businesses in the investment banking and capital markets areas, particularly in the emerging markets. He has been an Independent Non Executive Director of Alpha Bank A.E. since May 29, 2014. He serves as the Chairman of QInvest Saudi Arabia. He served as a Non-Executive Director of Panmure Gordon & Co. plc from August 6, 2009 to April 16, 2013. He served as a Director of NBD Sana Capital. He holds a BA in Economics from Oberlin College, Ohio, USA.
