Biography

Mr. Ahmed Ali H A Al-Hammadi serves as the Acting Head of Active Investments of Qatar Investment Authority (QIA). Mr. Al-Hammadi serves as the Head of Fund Investments Department of QIA. He oversees the active investment portfolios including sector portfolios, managed portfolios and fund investments which represent the majority of the QIA's international investments and is responsible for fund investments in Private Equity, Equity, Hedge Funds and Real Estate. Mr. Al-Hammadi served as an Associate in the Asset Management Department from 2010 to 2014 and was responsible to review and recommend investments for QIA Hedge Fund portfolio, the Venture Capital program and to initiate the attraction of asset managers to Qatar. From 2008 to 2010, he served as the Vice President - Asset Management of EFG-Hermes Qatar where he was in charge of the asset management business in Qatar. Prior to that, he was an Associate with Booz Allen Hamilton and worked on the restructuring and strategy recommendation for several financial service firms in the Middle East and was a Financial Reporting Analyst from 2003 to 2005. He has been Non Independent and Non Executive Director of Pavilion Real Estate Investment Trust since June 14, 2016. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Economics, Finance and Accounting from the University of Pennsylvania - The Wharton School in Philadelphia, United States of America and Master in Business Administration from Harvard Business School from Boston, United States of America.
