Biography
Perla Breccia is a chemistry leader for the CHDI-Charles River collaboration and a team leader in medicinal chemistry at the Charles River Discovery Services site in Cambridge, UK. She has been involved in the CHDI collaboration since 2010, delivering CNS-penetrant PoC molecules to validate potential protein targets (HDAC4, ATM kinase)for Huntington’s disease. She joined Charles River via BioFocus in 2005, and has contributed to several hit-to-ID, hit-to-lead, and lead optimization drug discovery programs in oncology, inflammation, and CNS therapeutic areas. Dr. Breccia obtained her PhD in organic chemistry at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid in the field of supramolecular chemistry under the supervision of Prof. Javier De Mendoza.
