Biography
"Alexandru Irimie, M.D., Ph. D., Rector of the Iuliu Hatieganu University of Medicine and Pharmacy Cluj-Napoca, Professor at the Oncological Surgery Chair and Senior physician in general surgery at the Prof. dr. I. Chiricuta Oncology Institute. Professor Alexandru Irimie is a member in the Honorific Council of the Romanian Ministry of Health, Vice-president of the National Commission coordinating the Speciality Commissions of the Romanian Ministry of Health, member of the National Council for Attestation of Titles, Diplomas and University Certificates (CNATDCU), member of the National Council for the Financing of Higher Education on behalf of the Iuliu Hatieganu University of Medicine and Pharmacy and also the president of the Medical Oncology Commission at the Romanian Ministry of Public Health. Professor Alexandru Irimie is member in editorial boards, such as The Lancet Oncology, Romanian version, Journal of Clinical Oncology, Romanian version and Chirurgia (Romanian Society of Surgery magazine). He is the author of 3 books and co-author of 10 books, articles and studies (63 ISI articles, 3 International Database articles and 6 articles B quotation), both nationally and abroad. Professor Alexandru Irimie conducted or participated in the research team in several national and/or international projects and programs."
Research Interest
Thyroid surgery, quality of life in oncology, diagnosis and treatment in mammary pathology, colorectal surgery, breast surgery, gynecological surgery.
