Biography
He received a Dr. Med Vet (D.V.M) at Ludwig-Maximalian University and a Ph.D in Experimental Pathology from UTMB. The research in his laboratory has focused on viral pathogenesis, vaccine development and on development of animal models to test new vaccine candidates and antiviral drugs. He also serves as the Director of Animal Biosafety Level 3 for the Institute of Human Infections and Immunity and is a member of the Center for Biodefense & Emerging Infectious Diseases.
