Biography
Adriana Georgescu is a Cercetator principal; date scientometrice: h-index 18, 1284 citari (conform Scopus), Member of the Romanian Academy (since 2011), Referent for national and international specialist journals, PhD Leader in Biology; advisor for bachelor and master programs, Scientific secretary and member of IBPC Scientific Council "Nicolae Simionescu". Adriana Georgescu is a Evaluator Expert / Rapporteur of the European Framework Programs and for the Romanian Grants.
Research Interest
Cardiovascular alterations associated with cudiabate and obesity: experimental models (in vitro and in vivo), end-products of advanced glycation, systemic and local oxidative stress, structural and functional correlations of vascular cell dysfunction; Metabolic syndrome and related pathologies: insulin and leptin resistance, adipocitary secretory dysfunction, hypertension, hypercoagulability; Microparticles derived from endothelium and platelets, markers of cellular activation; the role of progenitor endothelial cells in endothelial repair.
