Biography
Dr. Stefan graduated from the University of Bucharest in 2004. During his degree he was awarded a research grant from the Louis Pasteur National Research Institute towards his work on the effects of diet and the environment on companion animals. In April 2006 he co authored 'Post Operative Pain evaluation in Pets', The Scientific Studies Congress of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Timisoara. He has also completed a four month apprenticeship under the guidance of Dr. Jeffery Young from Denver, Colorado, USA. Dr. Stefan currently runs his own veterinary clinic and is the medical director for Romania Animal Rescue Inc. (www.romaniaanimalrescue.org). He regularly organises and participates in neutering projects throughout Romania during which he will operate on approximately 40 to 50 animals per day. Dr. Stefan is a pioneer for the humane population control of street dogs in Romania and is keen to develop and share surgical techniques which allow optimum patient recovery with minimal complications. As a result of his work he has been nominated for two WSAVA awards which if sucessful will be awarded April 2012.
