Biography
Melinte is orthopedic surgeon at the University and Emergency Hospital from Craiova and assistant professor at the Human Anatomy and Biomechanics Department - University of Medicine and Pharmacy from Craiova. He completed his PhD thesis by studying the morphology of osseous progenitor cells derived from mesenchymal stem cells with implications in orthopedics surgery.He completed his training in Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy from Craiova, but he had also internships at Universite Catolique du Louvain - Belgium and University of Giessen and Marburg - Germany. He has been in practice for five years at the University and Emergency Hospital from Craiova where he deals with General Orthopedics and Traumatology.Dr. Melinte specialized in disorders of the shoulder that may be treated with open or arthroscopic surgery during some fellowships that he attended: arthroscopic surgery - Dr. Maarten van der List, Nederlands; arthroscopic surgery and shoulder replacement - UKGM Uniklinikum Giessen, Germany - prof. Heiss; Hopitaux Robert Schuman - Kirchberg, Luxembourg - Dr. Poeker and Dr. Schlammes. In addition, he authored many publications and several books in the fields of orthopedic surgery and human anatomy and biomechanics.
