Biography

 I am a molecular microbial ecologist with ample field work experience, and specific interest in the prokaryotic and eukaryotic components of marine microbial ecosystems. In particular: the use of molecular methods to delineate shifts in marine microbial communities and their dynamics in response to changing environmental conditions.  Currently involved in writing a scientific paper on the response of bacterial communities to climate change in the polar waters of Spitsbergen. And a collaboration on the effects of climate change on phytoplankton and bacteria of the Antarctic Peninsula, as a member of IMCONet (Interdisciplinary Modelling of Climate Change in Coastal Western Antarctica - Network for Staff Exchange and Training)
