Mr Maxim Poletaev

Biography

Maxim V. Poletaev was born on April 6, 1971, in Yaroslavl. In 1993, he graduated from Yaroslavl State University with a specialization in "Accounting, Control, and Analysis of Business Activity". In 1993-1995, he worked as an assistant at the Department of Economics and the Organization and Planning of Production at Yaroslavl State University. In 1994–1995, he underwent training at savings banks in Germany (Sparkasse, Kassel). In August 1995, he was appointed Head of the Analysis and Marketing Division in the Yaroslavl Bank of Sberbank. Later, he headed the Resources Allocation and Securities Management Division. In March 2000, he was promoted to the post of Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board of the Yaroslavl Bank of Sberbank. In September 2002, he was appointed Head of Sberbank’s Baikal Bank. In 2009, he was appointed Vice-President and Director of the Corporate Development Department of Sberbank of Russia. Since October 2009, he has served as Vice-President and Chairman of the Moscow Bank of Sberbank. In March 2013, he became a Member of the Executive Board of Sberbank of Russia. In June 2013, he was appointed First Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board of Sberbank. He supervises and coordinates the work of the Regional Development Unit, the Retail Business Unit, the Corporate Business Unit, the CIB Unit, the Wealth Management Unit and some others. He was awarded the Medal of the Order of Merit for Services to the Fatherland, 2nd Class. For outstanding achievements in banking and his personal contribution to the development of Sberbank, he was awarded the Silver and the Gold Badges of Sberbank of Russia in 2004 and 2011, respectively. He is a shareholder of Sberbank: stake in the authorized share capital - 0.0001%, share of the ordinary shares held - 0%.
