Biography
Dr. Marla Wirges grew up in Arkansas and graduated from Pine Bluff High School. She graduated cum laude from Vanderbilt University where she received a BS in Mathematics and Psychology. She received her medical degree from UAMS and was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha honors medical society. She completed her surgical internship at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center before proceeding onto her dermatology residency training. Her final year in training she served as Chief Resident and she received her specialty board certification in dermatology in 2006. She moved back home to Arkansas where she served as Associate Professor at UAMS for 7 years, both treating patients and teaching a new generation of residents. Her final two years she also served as Residency Director for the Department of Dermatology as well as a physician at the VA Hospital caring for our veterans. Dr. Wirges is now a proud member of the Pinnacle Dermatology team.
