Biography
Dr. Schmitz, a native of Austin, Texas, received her Bachelor of Science degree with highest honors from the University of Texas at Austin and her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School at San Antonio. She went on to complete her internship and residency in pediatrics at Harbor-UCLA medical Center in Torrance, California. She is board certified in Pediatrics and is a fellow in the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Schmitz has been with our clinic since moving to Little Rock in 1992 with her husband, Mike Schmitz, a pediatric anesthesiologist at Arkansas Children’s Hospital. They have two children, Andrea and Drew.
