Orlando Borras-hidalgo

Biography

 Over the years, I have been working in different projects and as such got acquainted with a wide variety of skill related with molecular biology, biochemistry, functional genomic, bioinformatics and molecular diagnosis. I have worked in fundamental and applied research projects involved in Plant Biotechnology. I have been leader in different projects in the field of Plant Biotechnology and genomics. In my previous research group we study the different molecular mechanisms involved in the disease resistance. We used several Nicotiana species to identify the molecular and biochemistry events involved in the innate immunity to oomycete and fungus pathogens. Actually, we focus the research in the following topics: citrus Huanglongbing (HLB), Panama disease tropical race 4, Asian soybean rust, tobacco disease and tomato early blight.
