Nicole

Biography

I'm Nicole and I'm a consultant here in the Bain, Chicago office. Before coming to Bain I was doing a PhD in Evolutionary Biology at UChicago, where I was studying the impacts of climate change on marine molluscs. I was effectively raising 200 marine snails in a lab. In my last two years of my PhD program I started to think about career next steps and consulting really peaked my interest. It seemed to be a great foundation for my career since I would still have multiple options to choose from if I decided to leave. I could still go back into something academic related, or do something in the non-profit or philanthropy space. My first experience at Bain started when I participated in an advanced degree program called Advance Into Consulting. It was just a half day program where we learned a little bit about consulting and did a mock case, with a consultant who walked us through the answer first process, with time to ask a few questions. That was a really great first experience; I loved the office and I loved the people who were there.
