Biography
Tomoko Kurokawa is a nonresident scholar in the Carnegie Nuclear Policy Program. Her research focuses on Japan’s planned phaseout of nuclear energy, its policy toward reprocessing, and U.S.-Japanese cooperation on nuclear nonproliferation. Prior to joining Carnegie, Kurokawa was a news reporter and field producer for sixteen years with Tokyo Broadcasting System Television, Inc. In 2010, her feature story entitled “Japan-India Nuclear Deal” was published in the Japanese monthly magazine Sekai. She has also produced several television pieces focusing on nuclear issues, including “Nuclear Security Summit and Danger of Nuclear Terror Attacks” and “The True Story of Struggling with the Fukushima Disaster for 180 Days—What Deprived People of Their Hometown?”
