Biography
Chairman of the Board of Directors of Werner Baumann was born on October 6, 1962 in Krefeld (Germany). After graduating from the Faculty of Economics of the Rhine-Westphalian Technical University of Aachen and Cologne University in 1988, he joined Bayer AG. At the beginning of his career, he held a position in the corporate finance department in Leverkusen. In 1991, he was transferred to the division of Bayer Hispania Comercial in Barcelona (Spain) as a controller. Subsequently, in 1995, he became Assistant Managing Director. A year later, Mr. Baumann was transferred to the Bayer Corporation in Terrytown (New York), and was then appointed head of the global organization for business planning and administration of the Diagnostics Business Group.
