Biography
He was born on October 20, 1936 in Lugansk. In 1955 he graduated from the Russian men's school eleven in Sukhumi and in the same year entered the medical faculty of the 2nd Moscow State Medical Institute (now the Russian State Medical University). In 1962 he enrolled in graduate school at the department of hygiene of the same institute and after graduating from 1965 he works at this department.In 1966, he defended his Ph.D. thesis and in 1971 completed his doctoral dissertation. Since 1973 until now he is the head of the department. Simultaneously, in the 80-90s he was dean of the medical faculty, and then vice-rector for scientific work.
