Biography
In 1973 he entered the 2 nd Moscow Medical Institute. NI Pirogov, who graduated in 1979. In the third year I took up the problem of metastasizing tumors in the ON. NN Blokhin. After graduation, he worked in the department of resuscitation and anesthesiology TsKB Korolev and received the qualification of anesthesiologist-resuscitator. On operations in cancer patients, the preparatory stages of the metabolic control regimen of the body were applied to oncological diseases. In 1984 he continued his scientific work in the ONC. NN Blokhin in the laboratory of "Combined therapy of tumors" under the direction of the director of the Institute for Experimental Diagnostics and Therapy of Tumors, ONC RAMS. prof. L. V. Moroz. He was engaged in the development of regimes of controlled metabolism of the body for radiation and chemotherapy, he created a demonstrative experimental basis for the high effectiveness of this application. In parallel with the main topic, he took part in the development of xenon autovaccine in cancers of various localizations. In 1986, in connection with the relevance of the topic of photodynamic therapy (PDT) for the treatment of cancer, he began to work in this direction and headed the creative team in the department of laser methods for diagnosis and treatment of tumors. Based on the results of the first years of research on photoactive drugs in 1991, he defended his thesis on the title of candidate of medical sciences. The works of this period formed the basis for preclinical tests of the medicinal form of the preparation "Photogem" (Russia) and "Photofrin-2" (USA). In the mid-1990s, continuing his practical activities in the field of combination therapy of tumors, he continued to search for the most effective and safe compounds for PDT tumors. Conducted preclinical comparative trials for drugs "Photosens" (Russia) and its analogue "Visudin" (Europe). In parallel with these studies, he worked on the application in the oncology of the impulsive-priodic pomegranate scalpel "Laska" (Russia, 1991) and the method of combined therapy for rectal cancer. The main efforts in the field of PDT were applied to the research of a new non-toxic and highly effective group of photoactive compounds of the Chlorine-e6 series and, based on the results of preclinical trials, Radachlorin, which later was certified for clinical use in a number of EU countries, was patented and introduced into oncology. Further study of these compounds made it possible to reveal a number of cardinal advantages in comparison with previous preparations, to develop new methods of antitumor treatment and to create a pharmaceutical composition of a new photoactive preparation that, in its pharmaceutical characteristics, surpasses already used in the world practice dosage forms. In 2006 he defended his doctoral dissertation, which summarized the materials of thirty years of work in scientific and practical oncology and outlined the prospects for the further development of new directions in this field. Author of 67 scientific publications on photodynamic therapy of tumors, immunotherapy in oncology, early diagnosis and monitoring of tumor growth and methods of combined therapy of oncological diseases. Co-author of 7 patents on drugs and methods in oncology in Russia and the PCT.
