Kardanov Andrey

Biography

In 1993 graduated from the Department of Medicine of the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia. Completed residency and postgraduate studies at the Department of Traumatology and Orthopaedics at the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia (academic advisor: professor N. V. Zagorodny, MD, PhD). Every 5 years participates in specialized advanced study courses. From 1993 to 2001, worked as an attending physician, later, as a traumatologist-orthopedist at the Municipal Clinical Hospital No. 71 (Moscow). From 2001 to 2009, served as a head of the Department of Orthopedics at the Municipal Clinical Hospital No. 31 (Moscow). Teaches traumatology and orthopedics to students and interns of PFUR, and students at continued medical education department of PFUR. Has over 15 publications in peer-reviewed journals. The author of two practical manuals and monographs on foot surgery. Regularly attends international congresses (SOFCOT, AAOS, SICOT, ASTAOR) and specialized courses in hip and knee replacement, foot and ankle surgery in Switzerland, Germany and France. Member of the Association of Surgeons Orthopedists of France (SOFCOT); member of the Association of Sports Traumatologists, Arthroscopic and Orthopedic Surgeons and Rehabilitation Specialists (ASTAOR); Member of the Russian Society of Foot and Ankle Surgery (RUSFAS).

Research Interest

Replacement arthroplasty of major joints: knee, hip; Small joints arthroplasty – ankle, talocrural, metatarsophalangeal, interphalangeal (foot); Reconstructive surgery of sports injuries (except arthroscopy); Surgical correction of foot and toe deformities; Surgical correction of flat foot; Surgical correction of lower limbs’ deformities; Surgical treatment of ununited fractures and false joints; Surgical treatment of benign tumors of the limbs.
