Biography
Trained in Ophthalmologic and Laser Surgery at the Moscow Eye Microsurgery Center (Fiodorov Institute) where he also completed his Ph.D. studies in retinal surgery. Experience Dr. Elias is the first Ophthalmologist in Russia to be recognized by the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He is also one of the founding directors of the newly formed Russian Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, which is affiliated with the American Surgical Society. He is the director of the Ophthalmology Laser Surgery Center at the EMC, equipped with the latest computerized laser for vision correction – a first in Russia. Dr.Elias has been in charge of the EMC ophthalmology department since 1996.
