Biography
In 2000 he graduated from the department of general medicine at the I.M. Sechenov Moscow Medical Academy. From 2000 to 2005 he performed his clinical residency and post-graduate studies in urology within the department of urology and surgical andrology of the Russian Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education on the premises of the S.P. Botkina City Clinical Hospital. During the course of his education he combined his academica activities with work in the emergency urology department and the department of endourology and lithotripsy. He defended his candidate’s dissertation on “Urinary Disorders in Patients with Parkinson’s Disease” under the direction of Professor O.B. Loran. He is currently working on his doctoral dissertation on modern methods of diagnosis and surgical treatment of complex forms of kidney stones. In 2008 he performed a clinical fellowship at the Vienna University Hospital (AKH Wien) in the urology clinic under the leadership of Prof. M. Marberger and at the Rudolfinerhaus clinic under the direction of Professor B. Javan. In 2010 he did a clinical fellowship at the hospital LIJ in New York, under the direction of professors L. Kavoussi and A. Smith From 2008 to 2010 he headed the department of endourology at the S.P. Botkin City Clinical Hospital, and from 2010 to 2014 he lead the urology department of the Federal State-Funded Institution Treatment and Rehabilitation Center of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation. Each year, he presents at Russian and international urology congresses and symposiums, including as chairman of sessions at the congresses of the European Urological Association. He regularly takes courses for increased qualification in the best clinics in the world, focusing on different areas of endoscopic, laparascopic and laser urology. Dr.D.A. Mazurenko’s surgical experience is one of the most extensive in Russia in the realm of percutaneous surgery of complex, including coral calcium type, kidney stones and percutaneous surgery of anomalous kidneys. He has performed more than 1,200 such operations, and moreover the level of complications is extremely low (there has not been one complication requiring removal of the kidney). Dr. Mazurenko is also an expert in the field of laser surgery of benign prostatic hyperplasia. He has presented demonstration surgeries and surgical masterclasses in hospitals in Russia and abroad. He is the author of more than 50 scientific works.
