Biography
Alexander Dzhaparidze was the Chief Executive Officer, main owner and one of the founders of Eurasia Drilling Company (EDC) with an estimated net worth of $2.3 billion as of March 2013 according to Forbes. He is also the 44th richest person in Russia and ranked 641st in the World Billionaires list. Russian native and veteran of the oil and gas industry; in 1977, obtained a Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering and Geophysics from Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas, subsequently earned a Master's degree in Engineering and a Doctorate of Science. In 1980, joined the Moscow, Russia-based research and development center, Central Geographical Expedition, as an Engineer-Geophysicist, and later served in various Executive positions at the company.
