Biography
Toni Ahtoniemi, PhD is an expert in diseases of the central nervous system. After working in the preclinical drug development sector, he joined Charles River Discovery Services, where he is a Key Client Business Manager, focusing on helping clients accelerate their drug development process. Toni obtained his PhD in 2008 on central nervous system related disease models, including the SOD1 model that figures prominently in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis research. Toni’s articles have appeared in GEN and his recent peer-reviewed studies have been published in Neurobiology of Disease and Molecular Pharmacology.
