Biography
Mr. Hirst was the Chief Executive of the Met Office from 2007 – 2014. Prior his sevice at the Met Office, he served as the CEO of electronics distributor Premier Farnell and also spent 19 years with ICI Plc. At ICI Plc, Mr. Hirst held senior positions including as CEO of two of ICI’s global businesses, ICI Performance Chemicals and ICI Autocolor. Mr. Hirst currently serves as a non-executive Board Director at Marsh Ltd and several other companies, is a member of the Board of Trustees of Epilepsy Research UK and SUDEP Action, and holds a Bachelor’s in Economics from the University of Leeds.
