CAREER: 1974: graduated from Chemical Department (Chair of Enzymology), Moscow State University (B.S. degree in Enzymology) 1974-1980: researcher at the Chair of Chemical Enzymology, Moscow State University 1980-1989: senior researcher at the Chair of Chemical Enzymology, Moscow State University 1989 up to date: the head of laboratory “Physical Chemistry of Enzymatic Transformation of Polymers” at the Chair of Chemical Enzymology, Moscow State University (20 employee, including Ph.D students) Spent 1 year (1981-82) in RPI, Troy, N.Y., USA, working under research program on biomass bioconversion at the laboratory of professor H.R.Bungay. DEGREES: 1978: Ph.D. Degree in Enzymology, Moscow State University, 1988: Dr. Sciences Degree in Enzymology and Biochemistry, Moscow State University, 1993: Professor Degree, Moscow State University. 1978: National Award for Young Scientists SUPERVISING: more than 20 Ph.D. students and large number of undergraduate students. MEMBERSHIP: Russian National Research Program on Enzyme Engineering Council, member of ACS, AATCC, TAPPY, AACC

Research Interest

enzymology, biochemistry, microbiology and genetics of carbohydrases (cellulases, xylanases, pectinases), proteases, lipases, esterases, and other enzymes; screening, mutation & selection of fungal and bacterial strains – producers of enzymes, fermentation process development, scaling up and commercialization; production of recombinant fungal strains and recombinant enzymes; application of enzymes in textile & detergents, pulp & paper, food & feed and in other areas.
