Under the guidance of the leading US coloproctologist, Prof. Steven Wexner, Dr. Bashankaev underwent a three-year scientific and clinical training, mastered the full range of colorectal surgeries, studies of anorectal physiology, and gained extensive experience in research work. The result of this training was the International Clinical Colorectal Fellow (unique for Russian coloproctology), co-authorship in 5 chapters of guidelines for colorectal surgery in the USA, more than 10 publications in foreign languages ​​in profile journals, a total of about 40 invited lectures on colorectal surgery in various countries , In 2009, Dr. Bashankayev took first place in the international contest of laparoscopic skills and Simendo Online World Competition simulations. Since 2014 he has been leading the International School of Practical Surgery, which successfully held 6 major educational events in Moscow and Russian regions. Sphere of special interest is laparoscopic colorectal surgery, surgery of inflammatory bowel diseases, pelvic floor dysfunction, anorectal physiology and pathology, stool incontinence, radical treatment of epithelial coccygeal path. Dr. Bashankayev is a recognized Russian coloproctologist at the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons. Deputy Head of the Video Education Committee of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, member of the Internet Development Committee of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, member of the Eurasian Colorectal Technologies Association.
