Biography
ROTOTAEVA OXANA completed DEGREE: D.Sc. and working as Researcher in the department of Glaciology. RESEARCH AREAS: Caucasus, Pamir, Tien-Shan; beginning from 1982 till present – continuous annual glaciological monitoring of the reference glacier Garabashi (southern slope of the Elbrus mountain); surging glacier Kolka (Kazbek mountain) and the region of Karmadon catastrophe of 2002.
Research Interest
Morphology, regime and dynamics of mountain glaciers and regional glacier systems; modern glacier fluctuations and forcing factors; formation of glacier mass balance; processes of accumulation of chemical admixtures in glaciers;surging glaciers and glacier hazards.
