Biography
I work as an expert and consultant for insurers and employers who want to bolster insured and employee health while saving costs related to mental health conditions and disability leaves. Develop projects related to mobile, digit & behavioral health initiatives in government, insurance and employee wellness programs, programs that improve health, which encompasses mental, emotional and spiritual well-being to boost productivity and engagement. Employers incur an estimated $100 billion annually in direct and indirect costs associated with depression, including as much as $44 billion lost to employee absences and lower productivity, according to a survey published in 2014 by Employers Health Coalition Inc., a Canton, Ohio-based not-for-profit health benefits service provider. My primary research interest is the elucidation of the functional organization of biopsychosocial mechanisms underlying behavioral and affective processes, with a special emphasis on autonomic regulation and neuroscience. My primary line of biomedical and health research includes laboratory, ambulatory and population studies of stress, resilience, coping, and psychobiology. My goal is to advance knowledge from adaptation and resilience psychobiology for intervention research with individuals (via the neuroplasticity or epigenetic changes of vulnerable facets of phenotypes) and society (via the society mechanisms mitigating the adversity effects on persons with vulnerable phenotypes) for health recovery, health protection (disease prevention), and health promotion in phenotype- and genotype-diverse populations.
