Biography
Nikita joined Kaspersky Lab in 2004 as a virus analyst and in 2006 became a senior developer working on emulators for the heuristic engine. In 2009 Nikita was appointed Director of the Anti-Malware Research Unit, taking charge of developing and implementing strategies to protect users from malware, as well as coordinating work with independent test labs. Prior to his move to the acting CTO role, Nikita served as Vice President of Threat Research and Deputy CTO (Research). In this role he led efforts to work with Kaspersky’s virus labs around the globe and defined and drove the strategic direction of Kaspersky Lab’s threat prevention technologies such as anti-malware, Automatic Exploit Prevention, content filtering, DLP. Nikita’s leadership saw Kaspersky Lab twice win the prestigious ‘Product of the Year’ award from the highly-respected AV-Comparatives independent test lab. The company also ranked first in a TOP3 metric measuring consistent performance in independent tests throughout 2013, according to statistics gathered from the most authoritative test organizations. Nikita has a degree in Computing Science from the Moscow State University of Electronics and Mathematics
Research Interest
Nikita was appointed Chief Technology Officer at Kaspersky Lab in October 2014, having served as acting CTO from April 2014. In his role Nikita is responsible for devising the overall technology and product strategy for the company, driving all product and services development as well as engineering and research activities, and overseeing the whole Kaspersky R&D organization as a main source of company’s expertise and intellectual potential.
