Mr Alexander Bazarov

Biography

Alexander V. Bazarov was born on August 5, 1962, in Kyiv, Ukrainian SSR. In 1984, he graduated from Taras Shevchenko State University with a specialization in Political Economy. PhD in Economics. Completed the MBA program at the University of Pennsylvania (USA). In 1987-1992, he worked as a university lecturer, and then started his career in the banking sector. In 1992, he was Chief Economist and Head of Department at the National Bank of Ukraine. In 1995-1996, he was a partner in Bankers Trust (London, UK). In 1996-2004, he was CEO and Chairman of the Executive Board of Credit Suisse First Boston (Ukraine). In 2004-2008, he was Managing Director and Head of the CIS Customer Relations Department at Deutsche Bank (Ukraine). Since 2008, he has been a member of the Executive Board of Sberbank and Director of the Corporate Customer Department at Sberbank. In 2009-2012, he was Vice President – Director of the Major Customer Relations Department. Since 2013, he has been the Senior Vice President of Sberbank. Co-manager of the CIB Unit. Awarded the Certificate of Honor of the Government of the Russian Federation. Honored with the acknowledgement of the President of the Russian Federation. He is a shareholder of Sberbank: stake in the authorized share capital - 0.0022%, share of the ordinary shares held - 0.0023%.
