Biography
n 1990 he was elected Corresponding Member of the USSR Academy of Sciences in the specialty "Atmosphere Physics", and in 1997 - Acting Member of the RAS (Academician) for the same specialty. At present he is a member of the Department of Mathematical Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Member of the bureau of the Department of Mathematical Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences, member of the Bureau of the Board of Directors of the Russian Academy of Sciences, member of the four coordination scientific councils of the Russian Academy of Sciences, member of 2 dissertational councils, member of the editorial boards of journals: Izvestiya RAN, Atmosphere and Ocean Physics; Russian Journal of Numerical Analysis and Mathematical Modeling, Ecological Bulletin of Black Sea Economic Cooperation Research Centers, member of the Synergetics publishing board. Head of the Seminar "Mathematical Modeling of Geophysical Processes" and co-director of the seminar Global Changes in the Environment and Climate. "Head of the leading scientific school, supported by a grant from the President of Russia. He was a member of a number of international scientific committees and commissions, in particular, the International Commission for Dynamic Meteorology, the leading scientific committee of the international program TOGA (tropical ocean and global atmosphere), the leading scientific committee of the World Climate Program. Member of the American Meteorological Society. In 2004, V.P. Dymnikov was elected a member of the European Academy of Sciences, laureate of the AA Prize. Friedman Russian Academy of Sciences (1993) and the State Prize of the Russian Federation (2000).
