Biography
He graduated from the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of Moscow State University (1958). He worked at the Department of Higher Algebra of Moscow State University as an assistant (1961-1966), associate professor (1966-2000). Since 2000, Professor of the Department of Higher Algebra of Moscow State University. Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (1999). Subject of the thesis: "On homology of finite p-groups and local rings". Subject of the doctoral dissertation: "Complex of Shafarevich and its applications". Member of the editorial board of the journal "Fundamental and Applied Mathematics" (MSU), abstract journal "Mathematics" (VINITI). Laureate of the Prize of the Moscow Mathematical Society (1963). Research interests: commutative and homological algebra, homological dimensions, homological hypotheses, perfect ideals, Gorenstein rings, Cohen-Macaulay rings, complete intersections, standard bases, Koszul complex, Shafarevich complex, monomial ideals, Hilbert functions, duality.
Research Interest
Application of Massey operations for calculating the homology of local rings. The construction of a non-nilpotent nilalgebra. Homological characterization of noncommutative complete intersections.
