Biography
Valeri Fedorovich Venda, he graduated from Moscow Power Engineering Institute. In 1960-1962 while working at Moscow research and project institute of complex automation systems, he completed a project of power plant information system first in USSR automated with computers. He used a combination of engineering, ergonomic, psychological and industrial design (aesthetic). For the projects he was awarded with national gold medal.[1] In 1963, at the age of 25, he was appointed head of the first in the USSR department of ergonomics at the Research Institute of Industrial Design. In 1967, Valeri Venda got PhD (Engineering) from his Alma-Mater, Moscow Power Engineering University.[1] In 1973, Valeri Venda received Degree as Doctor of Science (DSc) in Psychology from Leningrad State University.[2][1] In 1974, Valeri Venda founded and led engineering psychological department at the Institute of Psychology USSR Academy of Science (1974 - 1986).[3] He then headed Department of learning at Institute of Higher Education and National Program for improvement of higher education (1986 - 1990).[4] From 1988 to 1990 Valery Venda was vice-president Soviet Ergonomics Association.
