Moscow/Kaluga, August 16, 2017 — An official event dedicated to the 10th anniversary of local production in Russia took place at the automotive plant in Kaluga on August, 12. In the anniversary year, the plant opened its doors to employees and their families, representatives of regional authorities, and to partners and suppliers. The production site in Kaluga was constantly developing: in September 2015, the production of 1.6 MPI EA211 engines was launched in Kaluga with a maximum capacity of 150000 engines per year. In November 2016, a new body shop with total area of 12 000 sq.m was opened at the plant in Kaluga, and the paint and assembly shops were upgraded for the new Volkswagen Tiguan production.
