Biography
Jim Andrew is executive vice president, Corporate Strategy and chief venturing officer for PepsiCo, a global food and beverage leader with net revenues of more than $63 billion and a product portfolio that includes 22 brands that generate more than $1 billion each in estimated annual retail sales. PepsiCo’s main businesses - Quaker, Tropicana, Gatorade, Frito-Lay and Pepsi-Cola - make hundreds of enjoyable foods and beverages that are loved throughout the world. Mr. Andrew assumed this position in 2016. He leads strategy development and strategic planning across all business units and global sectors. He also oversees PepsiCo’s venture scouting activities, developing and nurturing both global and geography-specific venturing strategies and initiatives. Prior to joining PepsiCo, Mr. Andrew served as chief administrative officer of Sears Holdings Corporation, where he oversaw many corporate functions, including Financial Planning and Analysis, Business Finance, Procurement, Legal, Human Resources and Communications. Additionally, he was responsible for capability development and cultural transformation across the organization as the company adapted to the rapidly changing retail environment and growth of eCommerce. Previously, Mr. Andrew served as chief strategy and innovation officer for Royal Philips N.V., and as CEO of Philips Group Innovation. He had leadership accountability for all elements of strategy and innovation, including Philips Research, venture businesses, Philips Design, and Intellectual Property & Standardization. He was instrumental in leading the evolution of innovation at the company, with a focus on increasing speed-to-market of new products and developing a leaner and more efficient R&D organization. He also led the company’s digital transformation. Mr. Andrew started his career at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) working his way to the role of senior partner over a distinguished 25-year career. At BCG, he established the firm’s Innovation practice, which focused on innovation strategy, portfolio management, product development, and speed-to-market. He also worked globally with leading companies in the areas of portfolio composition, corporate and business unit strategy, and shareholder value creation. Mr. Andrew earned his Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from the University of Illinois and his MBA from the Harvard Graduate School of Business. Mr. Andrew is based in Purchase, N.Y.
