Biography
Before joining Pharmstandard Ventures (formerly Inbio Ventures), Ilya Yasny served as a scientific expert at IBC Generium, a Russian biotechnology company, since 2010. During this time, he established a number of international collaborations in the course of development of several pharmaceutical projects and managed these to promote the projects. Previously, he supervised an establishment of an automated laboratory for recombinant expression of membrane proteins in 2008-2010. Prior to that, he served as a researcher in the US-Russian company Algodign (2002-2005), a computer based drug design company, where he was involved in analyzing protein and pharmaceutical structures. He received his Ph.D. in enzymatic catalysis from Moscow State University (2008), Chemistry Department, Enzymology Division, where he graduated from the laboratory of protein engineering. His dissertation was devoted to the rational protein design. He has broad experience in protein chemistry, molecular biology, genetic engineering, deep knowledge of biotechnology and pharmaceutical drug development.
