Dmitrievich Nekipelov

Biography

He graduated from the Economics Faculty of Moscow State University (1973). In 1973-1981 he worked at the Institute of Economics of the World Socialist System of the USSR Academy of Sciences . In 1976 he defended his thesis on economics [3] . He worked in the Soviet Embassy in Romania as the second and first secretary (1981-1985). In 1985 he became head of the sector of the Institute of International Economic and Political Studies. In 1989 he defended his doctoral dissertation "Mechanism of Socialist Integration" [4] . In 1990 he became deputy director, from 1998 to 2001 he was director of the Institute for International Economic and Political Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences . In May 2013 he ran for the presidency of the Russian Academy of Sciences and, receiving 143 votes out of 1313 possible, took the third place.
