Biography

Honored Master of Science of the Russian Federation  Head Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynecology of Ministry of Healthcare and Social Development of Russia  Head of the Department of Surgical Gynecology  Head of the Department of Reproductive Medicine and Surgery, Faculty of Postgraduate Education, Moscow State University of Medicine and Dentistry  In 1972 Leila V. Adamyan graduated from I.M. Sechenov Moscow Medical Institute (now I.M. Sechenov  First Moscow State Medical University).  Since 1976 she has been working in the Center.   Prof. Adamyan manages and coordinated scientific research on improvement of reconstructive plastic surgery techniques in obstetrics and gynecology, she actively develops minimally invasive surgery and advances the implementation of new technologies into operative gynecology. She possesses 21 certificates of authorship for various inventions in the field of operative gynecology, she has developed her own method of surgical procedures that are regularly demonstrated at international congresses in Italy, USA, Great Britain and Belgium. Prof. Adamyan provides consultative and medical assistance in various medical institutions of Moscow and other cities, and is always being drawn in consilia and management of the most severe cases. The results of her scientific activity is presented in over 1000 national and international publications, including 14 monographs and guidelines, 5 atlases and 11 chapters.  Under the guidance of Prof. Adamyan a scientific and clinical school for gynecologists was created, and since 2006 it is being acknowledged as the leading school within the federal program “Research and Development in Priority Spheres of Science and Technology”, whose members head the departments in medical schools, hospitals and clinical departments in hospitals and medical centers both in Russia and abroad. Over 50 PhD and doctorate theses have been successfully fulfilled and defended.   Prof. Adamyan carries out a great scientific and organizational work as the Member of the Academic Council of Moscow State University of Medicine and Dentistry, the Research Center for Obstetrics, Gynecoogy and Perinatology, Moscow Medical Academy, the Member of the Problem Commission of the Scientific Council of RAMS and Ministry of Healthcare and Social Development in obstetrics and gynecology. Under the guidance of Prof. Adamyan the joint scientific research with Oxford University (UK) and University of Leuven (Belgium) is carried out.  Prof. Adamyan is the President of the Society for Reproductive Medicine and Surgery and Russian Association of Endometriosis, President of the Russian Association of Gynecologists- Endoscopists.
