Biography

Honored Master of Science of the Russian Federation  Head of Scientific Outpatient Department  Prof. Prilepskaya carries out activities of the Problem Commission of the Scientific Council of RAMS  Member of Presidium of Russian Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (RSOG)  President of the Russian Society of Contraception  President of Association of Cervical Pathology and Colposcopy Prof. Prilepskaya is an acknowledged international authority in gynecology and holds the responsibilities of:  Member of the Board of Directors of the European Society of Contraception and the European Council on the Prevention of Cervical Cancer  Member of the European Association for Colposcopy  Member of the Association of Gynecologists Endocrinologists  Member of Russian Academy of Mycology  Honored Member of Hungarian Association of Gynecologists  Chief Editor of Journals "Gynecology", "Contraception and Women's Health", "Genital Infections and Cervical Pathology”, a member of the editorial board of Journals: " Obstetrics and Gynecology", "Family Planning", "Problems of Reproduction","Osteoporosis and Osteopenia” and three international journals. Prof. Prilepskaya graduated from Smolensk State Medical Institute.  From 1977 to 1987 she worked in Moscow Regional Scientific Research Institute for Obstetrics and Gynecology.  In 1981 she defended PhD thesis "Treatment of Patients with Dysfunctional Uterine Bleeding by Norsteroids”.  From 1987 Prof. Prilepskaya heads the Scientific Outpatient Department of Research Center for Obstetrics, Gynecology and Perinatology.  In 1989 she defended her doctoral thesis on "Secondary Amenorrhea. Clinic, Diagnosis and Treatment". In 1994 she received the rank of Professor. Since 2006 Prof. Prilepskaya has been the Deputy Director for Science of the Center.  Prof. Prilepskaya is the founder of the national research school for outpatient gynecology. Her major scientific interests and practical activity are: gynecological endocrinology, contraception, abortion prevention, pathology of cervix, vagina, vulva, genital infections, the pathology of mammary glands, etc.
